The Jungle Book: The Story of Mowgli and Shere Kahn is a rich, deeply-interactive children’s book adapted by Drew Frist of Electric type, illustrated by renowned artist Nigel Buchanan and narrated by Emmy-nominated Rich Orlow.
The Jungle Book contains over 50 pages of interactive content, a sophisticated on-screen menu and navigation system, and provides a truly stunning experience for children and adults alike. The Jungle Book keeps the focus on reading while offering fun and exciting interactions that enforce the actions happening in the text. The soundtrack is lush and pulls the reader into the story and the optional narration is fun and engaging.
The Jungle Book was implemented using Unity 3D for iPhone (and iPad). This was a unique challenge given the 2D nature of the book, but Unity 3D turned out to be the perfect tool for this project. It allowed us to lay out pages and chapters visually and shortened the overall implementation dramatically.
